The Peace and Justice Ministry is an offiicially recognized function within the Warwick UCC organizational structure authorized by the congregation early in 2007. The Vision, Mission, and activities of the group are as outlined below.
Our Vision: Throughout history, God has spoken to his stewards who strived for peace, justice, and the liberation of the oppressed and God is still speaking today in this age of high anxiety and tribulation. Faithfully heeding the prophet Isaiah’s appeal to “seek justice” (1:17) and Jesus’ commission (Matthew 5) to actively participate in working for progressive social change (Matthew 5), the members of the Warwick United Church of Christ Peace and Justice Witnesses commit themselves to promoting a more just and peaceful society.
Our Mission: The primary mission of the Peace and Justice Witnesses is to provide the members of our congregation with a positive outlet to demonstrate “courage in the struggle for justice and peace” as expressed in the UCC Statement of Faith. We assert that the non-partisan programs pursued by the Witnesses will encourage intra-denominational dialogue and inter-denominational cooperation. In pursuit of our mission, the Witnesses will:

- Present and advocate films with a profound social vision to the community
- Promote the prayerful pursuit of peace
- Advocate and promote an annual CROP Hunger Walk fund raising activity
- Provide support for families of troops deployed overseas
- Participate in the annual feeding of the homeless (PORT) program
- Encourage grassroots policy activism on the local, state, and federal levels by utilizing the resources of the UCC Justice and Peace Action Network.
