In cooperation with the Peninsula Agency on Aging, Warwick UCC is proud to provide a dedicated room for use as a local Meals-On-Wheels dissemination center. From this center, approximately one hundred thirty well-balanced meals are delivered each day, Monday through Friday, to those many senior or disabled citizens of the community. This once a day contact not only provides material sustenance, but also is a visual check on the well being of the recipient as well as a moment of fellowship and conversation to break their often-lonely existence. Volunteer personnel perform the daily distribution and contribute unceasingly of their time as well as the transportation costs incurred in traversing their delivery routes. Because of the large number of persons needed to staff this vital service, there is a constant need for volunteers as primary or back-up delivery personnel. Should you feel led to support this vital effort, please call Meals on Wheels Peninsula at (757) 873-0541. You will be glad you did.
