Welcoming

"Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life's journey, you're welcomed in the United Church of Christ!"  We're glad you're here because Jesus welcomed us all into his life and love.  We are a multi-racial church with a wide variety of education and occupation choices.  We are an Open and Affirming congregation -- lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, and transgender folks are included with everyone else in our life, leadership, and ministry.

Ecumenical

We are an ecumenical church that honors the variety of Christian beliefs, not a sectarian church based on one set of beliefs.  We accept traditional beliefs as faithful witnesses, but God is still speaking, calling us to be faithful in new ways.  We believe in visible Christian unity -- working, worshiping, and cooperating with other Christians and other faiths.

Biblical

Jesus' story is the center of the Bible.  Our Sunday worship and Christian education are based on key Bible stories each week, using the Revised Common Lectionary -- Old Testament, Psalm, New Testament letter, and gospel.  One of these texts is the source of each week's sermon, as applied to daily life.

Serving

We follow Jesus' example in serving others and crying out for justice.  Our service and witness show our thanks to God for giving us new life in Christ.  Service groups share our building and its resources.  We are hosting our second guest congregation - Unity Fellowship Church.  We work cooperatively for the homeless.  Our new playground is the gathering place for the neighborhood kids.

Because we believe all Jesus' people are one, we live out unity and difference at the same time. We are open in our agreements and disagreements, while making the commitment to stay together and work together for our Lord.

If you're looking for a church family, look at our site and find here a church that can make a difference, "a small church doing great things".
